Aim: To realise a study that can to identify in detail which are the causes of partum depression, the symtoms and the most common treatmeants. With this information the professional will be able to determine wether a woman has it or not, and how give an appropriate treatments for the pathology.
Methods: To realise through surveys in different woman’s groups that has been developed postpartum depression, which was their symptoms, which were the caused than provocated this condition and what was the treatment that they received.
Results: three hundred of women were surveyed. The questions included different parts; among this are: The most frequent causes are: Change in hormonal levels, Changes in the mother’s body, Lack of sleep, Worries. It was a 99% agreement in the women’s group. – The most frequent symptoms are: Negative feelings toward the baby, Problems doing tasks at home or work, Lack of pleasure or interest in most or all activities, Feelings of worthlessness or guilt, Significant anxiety, Thoughts of death or suicide, Trouble sleeping. It was a 83% agreement in the women’s group. Finally the last question referred to the different forms for receive a treatment that were: Exams and test, to participate in Support groups, Get as much rest as possible, Speak with somebody about her state, The use of Antidepressant. It had 100% acceptance.
Conclusions: This survey that was realized is very important to give a treatment better that help to the affected and that form committed professionals with the patient
